Close Up is an ongoing project where I focus closer on the part of a whole, observing patterns and textures that call to me.
Photography has been a hobby and passion of mine for as ling as I can remember. Capturing a moment, transformation from 3D into 2D, there is an element of preservation. It is like a time capsule, never to be lived again, never to be changed. Yet somehow through the image, we can relive, and enter the moment once captured.
Though I have only studied Photography minimally, it is an art form that pulled me in, and demands that I explore. Inspired by an amalgamation of New Vision, the Amateur Photographers, Documentary Photographers and a desire to observe, the following works are my attempts of capturing moments.

Waves crashing, splashing onto wooden posts, bubbles fizzing. It’s peaceful. Quiet, yet somehow loud.
I was lucky enough to visit a small city called Annecy, located in the French Alps. The lake there is full of minerals, for as the snow melts, it runs down the mountains and collects into the beautiful blue water. The water I was lucky enough to swim in.
Being someone raised in oceans and seas, lakes have seemed like foreign bodies of water to me. However, looking over the lac d’Annecy I started to understand the calmness that can be felt next to one.
Outside my window, a storm is brewing.
Taken in Istanbul Turkey, this photo capture an entrance into a passage full of book stores. It is an underground world, were students, collectors, or even your average bookworm goes to find the story they desire.
Outside of the Grand Bazar, there is a little hidden courtyard full of small bookshops.
Turkey has a rich connection to dealing with silver and gold. Inside the Grand Bazar, I decided to get lost in the central silver section.
Often times we see things, places or even people without even thinking about how they became what they are. While wondering around Istanbul, I got lost and came across a hidden neighborhood going through a major reconstruction. This made me wonder what it looked like in the past. Why was it being changed? What will it look like in the future?
Back and fourth across the Bosphecis, these fairs travel. They carry millions of people a day.
This photo was taken in Thailand, on a river were not only buildings, but boats as well, form a colorful and eclectic market.
The beach by where I stayed.
